Tom Petty, conhecido cantor e compositor norte-americano, foi o líder da banda Tom Petty e os Heartbreakers. Ele sofreu uma parada cardíaca em 2 de outubro de 2017 e foi encontrado inconsciente em sua casa. Depois que o acharam, Petty foi imediatamente internado no Centro Médico da UCLA na Califórnia, mas infelizmente ele não resistiu e faleceu às 8:40 daquela noite. Os últimos relatórios que foram divulgados em 19 de janeiro de 2018 revelaram uma overdose como a principal razão por trás da morte de Petty – fentanil, alprazolam, citalopram e muitas outras drogas foram detectadas em seu sistema.
